Chantal Bustamante is a Latina circus performer based in Chicago, originally hailing from New Mexico. Chantal’s artistic journey began as a dancer in 2003, but in 2011, she discovered the world of circus and immediately fell in love. This newfound passion led her to Chicago, where she completed the Full-Time Circus Training Program at Aloft in 2013.Over the years, Chantal has performed for audiences across the globe, directed a contemporary circus company The Drifters Collective, and coached professional training programs. Defining moments in her career include training internationally with world-renowned coaches, directing two circus shows, and performing in notable productions such as Sanctuary, Circus Luminous, and Brooklyn's Reverie. She has also had the privilege of working with Circus Kathmandu.As a coach, she specializes in aerial straps, partner acrobatics, silks, and trapeze. Chantal enjoys guiding her students to feel invigorated, challenged, and confident in their craft. Since 2015, Chantal coaches professional and recreational students regularly at Aloft Circus Arts. She also has experience coaching social circuses with Wise Fool New Mexico and Circus Kathmandu.As a performer, Chantal is meticulous about details, passionate about ensemble work, and committed to creating emotionally engaging performances. With a versatile skill set, Chantal’s acts include partner acrobatics, aerials, stilt walking, and fire performing.She believes in the power of vivid storytelling, where even the smallest moments can leave a lasting impact. Inspired by the many layers of life, Chantal strives to bring the beauty of these depths to the stage, inviting audiences to connect with the stories she tells.
